The Güilis are a dissident artistic group that breaks into ürbic (between urban and public) space through composite interventions of physical images departing from sociopolitical questioning. We believe it is necessary to combat alienation and individualism in order to recover community space. That is why we propose: the reappropriation of public space to resign it as a common space and live it as a shelter and not as something hostile.
We work from 2016 through our bodies on public space. We take as reference different authors of the fields of architecture, urbanism, sociology and art; and we design and experiment different practices, in search of our own scenic language.

Starting from social issues and contexts that question, move and affect us, we generate ephemeral actions within the daily life of the public space inhabitants. We organize ourselves to intervene in space and leave a trace, where pedestrians are also part of the action as transforming agents of the space they occupy. We play with the material that we prepare in advance for the intervention and also with the spontaneity of the present.
As a group of thought, we question, discuss and analyze each of our actions and our affirmations. We seek to generate knowledge about the concepts of public space, art and community through theoretical research of different referents and from praxis, by performing different practices that we systematize and that give us more concrete information. From this research, we generate different formats of exchange, both with street arts professionals and other areas beyond the performing arts, such as urbanism and architecture, with the aim of vividizing this sector and growing up as professionals.
The collective is primarily interested in the link between art, space and community, understanding that the public spaces where we eventually work, do not belong to us a priori and do not have the sole purpose of being creation spaces. In this sense, we propose kinds of devices that seek to generate links and relationships with space, memory and its inhabitants, which may transcend the ephemerality of scenic arts. We understand art as a meeting state and its potential as a transformer of processes, relations and territories.
