Ürbic is part of the research and experimentation resulting from the first project of the collective “I was riding a bicycle when I was called terrorist”. The idea was to put aside the itinerary routes we were working on and choose a specific location from the decentralized neighborhoods and territories of Palma, and we chose the neighborhood of Sa Indioteria.

The objective of the collective was to transcend the concept of hostility of space to focus the work in relation to the community and the way we relate to each other, in the behaviors generated by this hostility, and the creation of a common space that tries to combat alienation. The work was configured through the creation of body installations that ended up being made in video art format.

The performative body allowed us to draw new trajectories, new ways of looking, new communication strategies from a collective body opposed to individuality, and convert the everyday gesture into an abstraction that allowed us to make our imagination fly.

The Ürbic project could be carried out thanks to obtaining the help of choreographic creation from the IEB (Institute of Balearic Studies) in 2021.
